Gondwana Game Reserve is the only Fynbos reserve in the world. Guests who stay here enjoy convenient leisure facilities and nearby attractions such as championship golf courses, excellent swimming and surfing beaches as attractive coastal towns await nearby.
The game reserve is in the heart of Garden Route in South Africa. Offering ravines, deep scenic valleys, rolling hills and open plains, the malaria-free game reserve is excellent for guided walking safaris and safari drives.
The lodge features welcoming and comfortable private suites which overlook two waterholes across the valley and the mountains. Each of the spacious open plan suites nestles in a beautiful surrounding where 180-degree views, clay pot fireplaces, as well as deep baths, await.
The reserve is also home to Bush Villas, which are suitable for larger groups and families. These self-contained villas provide a fully-equipped kitchen as well as a built-in-braai making it ideal for travellers who prefer to self-cater.
The lodge features a modern open-plan bar and lounge, with meals served in an elegant dining room set around two open fireplaces or in the outdoor boma. During their stay, guests enjoy bush breakfasts, romantic picnics, barbeques in the evenings and spectacular sundowners. The Lehel Lodge provides indoor and outdoor dining facilities.
The Kwena Lodge & suites have recently been refurbished & renovation. The Kwena Villa allows for a minimum of 3 guests.
The distance between Lehele lodge Villas and Lehele main lodge is 5 – 12 minutes drive.

The Knowledge of the tracker (Donald) and our guide (Helen) was exceptional and they ensured we were able to see everything. We seen leopards, cheetahs and lions. You stop for a morning coffee out in the bush and sundowners in the evening, this was also excellently organised. The rooms are absolutely stunning with the biggest mini bar I’ve ever seen. The drink options are fantastic. Super comfortable rooms and luxurious. Food was superb. Each evening there was a different location for dinner excellently curated by the team at the hotel, with food prepared to a very high standard. We also used the gym facilities which were great. The service and operational standards at this hotel are exceptional. I would 100% stay at this lodge again it was such an incredible experience

From the vanilla scented towels, to the delicious food, exciting game drives and phenomenal staff, our stay at Shiduli was magical from the second we arrived and lives in our hearts long after we left.
Your helpful staff greeted us as we arrived and and were with us every step of the way... literally. We were escorted to our private villa by Gary, who my children absolutely adored. Richard, in the bar was on form and Gogo Dorris had faith that we would see lions... which we did.
Thandy and Karen were friendly, professional and made us feel like old friends. We will definitely be back and will bring our friends and family so they can share in this beautiful gem.

Kwena Lodge Suites
14 Stand-alone bedroom suites (twin or king bed configuration), sleeping a max of 2 adults per suite, no children under 12.

Kwena Lodge Villas
11 private and spacious exclusive-use villas with 3 or 4 en-suite bedrooms (twin or king bed configurations), sleeping a maximum of 6 guests.
Facilities include open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area opening onto a large outdoor deck overlooking the game reserve. Located adjacent to Kwena Lodge, transfers provided to and from Lodge for meals and game drives.
Lehele Family Villas
The perfect self-catering safari getaway for families & friends where all children of all ages are welcome.
The villas are remotely located away from Lehele Lodge with total privacy to enjoy the beautiful Cape environment and passing wildlife. The spacious three- and four-bedroom ensuite villas feature double-volume lounge and dining areas with wood-burning fireplaces, all opening onto a wraparound deck with magnificent valley and mountain views.
Ulubisi Residence
Privately staffed lodge beautifully situated with 3 en-suite bedrooms sleeping 6 adults, or 4 adults and 4 children under the age of 12 years of age.
You will have your own Field Guide, Chef and Butler.
The exclusive and luxurious lodge includes large open plan interiors leading onto an expansive deck with a pool and hot tub overlooking the game reserve and mountains.

Our expert field guides reveal Africa’s wildlife to Gondwana’s guests in a Cape Fynbos environment; a truly unique safari experience! Exhilarating encounters on game drive with endangered species like the Cape Mountain Zebra and Rhinoceros will provide lasting memories.
Over 15 species of antelope can be found on the reserve including kudu, eland, bontebok, waterbuck, sable, grey reebok and many more.
The free roaming Big 5 species also keep things interesting with many visits to the lodge from the elephants and lions!
Gondwana is home to 17 carnivore species ranging from the small grey mongoose and small-spotted genet to medium-sized species such as the caracal and bat-eared fox, to the very large and powerful lion. Gondwana’s Endangered and Protected Species Area is 1000 ha and home to the endangered Bontebok, Cape Mountain Zebra and sable.
Guests can also enjoy informative Fynbos walks with their field guide and explore the diversity of our fynbos plants, as well as endemic birdlife that occurs nowhere else in the world, such as the Black Harrier and Orange Breasted Sunbird.
The vastness of Gondwana, coupled with the area’s excellent climate and terrain, make the reserve well suited to multiple species of game which are frequently seen by guests. Gondwana’s wildlife population is thriving, with numerous offspring from zebra, eland, wildebeest and Red Hartebeest, in particular.

Gondwana’s elephants are the Southernmost located elephant herd in the world and the first to have been re-established in a Fynbos and Renosterveld region. Our Conservation Department have been studying their habits and diet in this environment; both the elephant and Fynbos benefit from the grazing and foraging of this mega herbivore. We are extremely proud to have the first wild elephants born in the Southern Cape in 200 years.
Accommodation Rates
Children between the age of 3-5 stay for 30% of adult rate (game drives included).
Children between the age of 6-11 stay for 50% of adult rate (game drives included).
Children ages 12 and older are regarded as adults and pay 100% of adult rates.
All guests staying at Lehele Villas will be utilizing Lehele Lodge for all activities and meals.
Meals & Babysitting
Children’s menus are available at all times at Lehele Lodge.
Please advise us should your children have any specific dietary requests.
Babysitting in your Lehele Family villa is available at an hourly rate of R250 per child, per hour, and needs to be pre-booked to avoid disappointment.
Game Drives
Children under the age of 3 are not permitted on scheduled game Ddives for safety reasons.
Gondwana offers private game vehicles for families with children under 3 to be able to do game drives at an additional cost of R8 000.00 per 3-hour game drive
Alternatively a bookie drive could be booked at R495.00 per adult and R295.00 per child
The availability of private vehicles can only be confirmed 48 hours prior to your arrival
