Chacma Bush Camp - Kruger National Park
Chacma Bush Camp offers the perfect big five safari experience in 8000 hectares of undulating landscapes dotted with rocky outcrops. Located in the uncrowded Maseke Game Reserve (a management area of the Balule Private Nature Reserve), this family-friendly Kruger safari camp is the ideal hideaway for safari-goers looking for a more intimate Kruger safari. The camp sleeps a total of 10 people in three chalets, and thus offers an authentic and personalised safari experience.
The 8000 hectare private game reserve shares open borders with the Kruger National Park, which means wildlife can roam freely throughout. The undulating landscape is home to the Olifants River just south of camp, while old mica caves dot the landscape throughout.
The Olifants River coursing through the region, together with the abundant caves and outcrops, provides a diverse landscape for game drives. Guests will explore this unique section of the Kruger on expertly guided game drives, which takes place twice daily.
The camp’s perimeter is hugged by Mopane woodlands—a major drawcard for a wealth of wildlife. Bushbuck, kudu and plains game are commonly spotted in these woodlands, and can be viewed from the comfort of the deck area surrounding the sparkling swimming pool. Chacma’s main highlight is its small waterhole in front of camp, which is frequented by elephants during the drier winter months.

The Knowledge of the tracker (Donald) and our guide (Helen) was exceptional and they ensured we were able to see everything. We seen leopards, cheetahs and lions. You stop for a morning coffee out in the bush and sundowners in the evening, this was also excellently organised. The rooms are absolutely stunning with the biggest mini bar I’ve ever seen. The drink options are fantastic. Super comfortable rooms and luxurious. Food was superb. Each evening there was a different location for dinner excellently curated by the team at the hotel, with food prepared to a very high standard. We also used the gym facilities which were great. The service and operational standards at this hotel are exceptional. I would 100% stay at this lodge again it was such an incredible experience

What a memorable stay.
Our experience was perfect from start to finish. Booking the experience through Andy set the tone for the stress-free bush experience.
From the vanilla scented towels, to the delicious food, exciting game drives and phenomenal staff, our stay at Shiduli was magical from the second we arrived and lives in our hearts long after we left.
Your helpful staff greeted us as we arrived and and were with us every step of the way... literally. We were escorted to our private villa by Gary, who my children absolutely adored. Richard, in the bar was on form and Gogo Dorris had faith that we would see lions... which we did.
Thandy and Karen were friendly, professional and made us feel like old friends. We will definitely be back and will bring our friends and family so they can share in this beautiful gem.

Chacma Bush Camp is ideally located in the Maseke Game Reserve, a completely off-the-beaten track private reserve teeming with wildlife. Explore untouched landscapes with rocky outcrops, diverse vegetation and the Olifants River.
The 8000 hectare private game reserve shares open borders with the Kruger National Park, which means wildlife can roam freely throughout. The undulating landscape is home to the Olifants River just south of camp, while old mica caves dot the landscape throughout.
The area is a big five reserve and the bonus? It’s a relatively unknown reserve but certainly doesn’t lack in terms of sightings. Less people, more wildlife!
Chacma Bush Camp has only three chalets, each of which can be configured to suit guests’ needs. Chalets are built from natural stone and thatch, which provides a cooling effect during the hot summer months and a sense of warmth during the winter. Each of the rooms is similar in its decor, amenities and finishings but differs slightly in its layout and views. All rooms have air-con, plenty of cupboard space and en-suite bathroom with shower.
Klipspringer sleeps a family of 6 people and has an outdoor shower; Steenberg chalet sleeps 3 people and is next to the main area with a direct view of the waterhole; and Grysbok chalet has two separate rooms sleeping 2 adults and 2 children. Chalets are all just a few meters from the main area of camp, making it ideal for multigenerational family travel.
During the dry season the vegetation is sparse and wildlife congregates around watering holes. During the wet season the vegetation is dense and wildlife is more dispersed. Expect to see the big five over the course of a 3 night stay. In addition to the big five that are regularly sighted include giraffe, zebra, warthog, spotted hyena, baboon, hippo, impala, kudu, vervet monkey, waterbuck, wildebeest,
bushbaby, mongoose, duiker and steenbok. You might also see wild dog, cheetah, honey badger, porcupine, aardvark, civet, caracal and serval. Birds that are regularly seen are vultures, owls, bee-eaters, rollers, eagles, bustards, hornbills, starlings and shrikes.
