Relax by the pool, head out for a late afternoon game drive and then enjoy dinner in our wonderful restaurant. On Wednesdays and Saturdays enjoy the bush boma, under the African stars.

Kwa Maritane, or “Place of the Rock” offers unparalleled comfort, in a malaria free area, less than two hours from Johannesburg.

Kwa Maritane Bush Lodge – Pilanesberg Game Reserve

Located on the outer rim of an extinct volcano lies Kwa Maritane, ‘Place of the Rock’. Overlooking a unique granite dome is Kwa Maritane, Legacy’s oldest and most famous bush lodge, host to families, businessmen and delegates from all over the world.
Kwa Maritane has a variety of room types to suit all needs. All rooms have individual air conditioning, bathrooms with shower and toilet, DStv, direct-dialing telephones, electric shaving plugs, coffee and tea-making facilities, a hairdryer, international multi-plugs and electronic safes. Minibars are available on request. All Studio Twin rooms have two double beds except for two, which each have only one double bed. The Executive Studio rooms have two double beds and a mini-bar. The Executive King Studio rooms have a King sized bed and a mini-bar.
The 57 000 hectares of the Pilanesberg Game Reserve are brimming with almost all of Southern Africa’s game species. On the transition zone of the Kalahari and the Lowveld Pilanesberg offers a unique mix of fauna and flora. A game drive in Pilanesberg in an open safari vehicle allows close encounters with lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo. The Big 5 are joined by abundance of game including rare species such as wild dog or cheetah. More than 300 bird species make things interesting for avid birders. Game drives are usually conducted in the early mornings of late afternoons. The cooler hours of the day see activity in the wildlife. Especially predators tend to hunt at dusk or dawn. The game drives are conducted by experienced rangers and game trackers. The rangers are always eager to share their knowledge of the environment and also happily assist you with your wildlife photography. Open safari vehicles allow for great views while still guaranteeing your safety at all times.
Children can only be accommodated in a Standard Room. Children occupying their own rooms will be charged the full adult rate.

    We’ve have just come back from a 3 night stay at earth lodge. One word incredible. We got to see the big 5 and a lot more animals. The game drives were amazing. The Knowledge of the tracker (Donald) and our guide (Helen) was exceptional and they ensured we were able to see everything. We seen leopards, cheetahs and lions. You stop for a morning coffee out in the bush and sundowners in the evening, this was also excellently organised. The rooms are absolutely stunning with the biggest mini bar I’ve ever seen. The drink options are fantastic. Super comfortable rooms and luxurious. Food was superb. Each evening there was a different location for dinner excellently curated by the team at the hotel, with food prepared to a very high standard. We also used the gym facilities which were great. The service and operational standards at this hotel are exceptional. I would 100% stay at this lodge again it was such an incredible experience

    Our experience was perfect from start to finish. Booking the experience through Andy set the tone for the stress-free bush experience.

    From the vanilla scented towels, to the delicious food, exciting game drives and phenomenal staff, our stay at Shiduli was magical from the second we arrived and lives in our hearts long after we left.

    Your helpful staff greeted us as we arrived and and were with us every step of the way... literally. We were escorted to our private villa by Gary, who my children absolutely adored. Richard, in the bar was on form and Gogo Dorris had faith that we would see lions... which we did.

    Thandy and Karen were friendly, professional and made us feel like old friends. We will definitely be back and will bring our friends and family so they can share in this beautiful gem.
