What to Expect in 2027
New Ulusaba Safari & Rock Lodges are set in South Africa’s scenic Lowveld region of Mpumalanga Province, Ulusaba Safari Lodge and Rock Lodge are preparing to welcome guests back after an extensive transformation. The redesigned lodges will combine the thrill of a private safari with stylish accommodation, restorative wellness experiences, and a design that remains closely connected to the surrounding bush.
Ulusaba is part of the Sabi Sand wilderness, where spectacular landscapes and exceptional wildlife create an unforgettable safari setting. After the renovations, both lodges are expected to reopen in April 2027.

A Redesigned Ulusaba
20 stylish rooms and suites, including 15 additional suites.
Some of the new accommodation will offer private plunge pools.
Wellness in the Wilderness
At both Rock Lodge and Safari Lodge, the spa will include:
Two double treatment rooms
Cold plunge pools
Sauna
Rasul mud experience
Guests will also be able to relax on a yoga deck with sweeping views of the landscape, enjoy quiet reflection areas, or make use of the reflexology walkways.
These facilities will offer a tranquil contrast to the excitement of game drives, allowing guests to slow down and reconnect with themselves between safari adventures.
Spa treatments will use Africology’s ethical, plant-based African skincare. The wellness offering is designed to celebrate African ingredients while providing a thoughtful and relaxing experience in the heart of the reserve
Getting to Ulusaba
Guests flying to Ulusaba can land at the lodge’s private airstrip.
Private charter & shuttle flights are available from several airports including:

Family-Friendly Safari Options
Rock Lodge welcomes children of all ages.
Children between 0-11 years can join the Cubs Club or be looked after by a babysitter at no additional charge.
Cubs Club offers age-appropriate activities, including bush skills, animal tracking, and gentle spa experiences.
Children aged 6 and older are permitted to join game drives, subject to the lodge’s arrangements and the guide’s discretion.
Safari Lodge welcomes children aged 12 and older.
For safety, children must remain with an adult while in camp.
