Djuma Vuyatela Lodge - Activities

Djuma Vuyatela Lodge promises Big Five Safari within the Sabi Sands game reserve. Djuma’s biggest draw-card is essentially the wild and untamed surrounds into which its guests can explore.

Morning Game Drives: As the dawn begins to break at the start of another magical day in the African Bush, awaken to the sound of Hippo grunting their morning chorus from the Vuyatela waterhole, as they return from their nightly forage.

As the sun begins to make its appearance over the eastern horizon, venture out into the wilds with your Ranger and Tracker to explore yet more magical sights that the Djuma Game Reserve has to offer.

Bush Walks: For the more adventurous, take a walk on the wild side with your Ranger, where there is a wealth of information he will share with you when you take the time to have a closer look at your wild surrounds. Take an insight into your Rangers knowledge of how to determine the freshness of animal tracks, and search the undergrowth for tell tale signs of animal activity.

Evening Game Drives: After wiling away the heat of the day in the comfort of your air-conditioned Suite, it is time once again to head out into the wilds of the Djuma landscape. As the sun begins to set, and the heat of the African day abates, this is the perfect time to spot the predators that prowl the Djuma lands. After stopping to watch the sunset over the distant mountains with a glass of something cold in hand, it is time to continue on into the darkness, a thrill in the air and an expectation with every breath, what lies around the next corner?

Returning to the Lodge to freshen up and a chat around the roaring fire in the Boma, discussing the events of the day. As one drifts off to sleep in the extreme comfort of your Suite, the night sounds become apparent, the distant roar of a Lion and the closer whooping of a hyena clan out on the hunt bid you goodnight, what wonders await the African dawn tomorrow?
