The Victoria Falls Hotel, popularly known as “the grand old lady of the Falls”, is situated in the Victoria Falls National Park, a world heritage site, and is a member of the exclusive Leading Hotels of the World group. It is one of only three IS0-accredited hotels in Zimbabwe.

The Edwardian-style five-star hotel, built in 1904, combines the charm of the old with the convenience of the new. Set in lush tropical gardens with lily ponds, palm trees and semi-tropical shrubs, it provides the tranquility and seclusion that many guests seek. The famous Victoria Falls are just a ten-minute walk away using the hotel’s private pathway, and “the smoke that thunders” or “Mosi-O-Tunya” in the local dialect, is clearly audible and visible from this luxurious landmark.

World-class service, and food and beverage choice and preparation second to none, make the hotel a magnet for international visitors and locals alike. The opulent Livingstone Room for fine dining and dancing, the Jungle Junction with its famous breakfast and dinner buffets and ethnic entertainment in the evenings, offer variety and wide choice. The ambience of the hotel is steeped in that history with all suites decorated in the gracious Edwardian style of Zimbabwe’s colonial era. Small executive meetings and private dining facilities are easily arranged for those who wish to combine a little business with a lot of pleasure, and all in a secluded and discreet environment. A large swimming pool, two tennis courts, a library, reading rooms and chapel are part of the complex. Golfers can enjoy 18 holes on the championship course of the nearby sister hotel, Elephant Hills Resort. But it is the Victoria Falls Hotel that remains the major attraction for visitors. Waking up to the sound of “the smoke that thunders”, seeing the sun rise beneath the mist of one of the seven natural wonders of the world and the lunar rainbow at night, all the while soaking up the history and ambience of a bygone era, is more than unforgettable – it is unique.
Graced with traditional colours and fine-wood furnishings that provide an elegant and comfortable finish, the 64 standard bedrooms are available with single, twin or double beds. All rooms have bathrooms with bath/shower combination and are equipped with tea and coffee making facilities. Some bedrooms are inter-leading and eminently suitable for families. Furnished in traditional Edwardian style with an “Out of Africa” ambiance, the 46 Central Deluxe Rooms are situated in the main section of the hotel and are tastefully furnished with soft fabrics and warm colours in tune with Zimbabwe’s celebrated climate and diverse beauty. These 42 deluxe rooms are situated in the stand-alone Stables Signature Wing with a view of the front lawns or lush courtyard. These rooms are furnished in a modern style with a bygone feel. 2 Honeymoon Suites are located in the stylish Stables Signature Wing, optimizing privacy and exceptional comfort in a luxurious and well-appointed suite that surpasses expectations. 2 Deluxe Suites & the Batoka Suite offer discerning clients modern luxury and elegance, overlooking the lush gardens or stunning Batoka Gorge of the Zambezi River.
The 2 Executive Suites in the Grand North Hammerhead Central Building are perfect for the business traveller or discerning guests who enjoy a luxurious and spacious environment. The Royal Suite, in the main section of the hotel, is stylish and modern with country décor and generous space in which to relax or entertain. The suite inter-connects to deluxe rooms with well-appointed bedrooms, lounge, bathroom with shower and bath.
All Presidential rooms are air conditioned with every modern amenity including digital satellite television and a personal safe.
Enjoy dinner and dancing in the elegant Edwardian Livingstone Room, with classic a la carte and tables d'hote menus. Whilst the Livingstone Room reflects the century old hotel's style of grandeur and opulence, the dress code has been relaxed for the convenience of the guest. A fine selection of wine and liqueurs are available. Dining at the Jungle Junction offers an unforgettable experience with a fusion of African flavours. Entertainment from ethnic groups epitomises the spirit of Africa. Jungle Junction is the ideal venue for incentives groups. Stanleys Terrace is a must for light meals throughout the day. Traditional high tea is served every afternoon, with spectacular views of The Victoria Falls Bridge and the Victoria Falls themselves. Stanleys Terrace is the ideal location for sundowners and offers a table d'hôte menu with an a la carte menu on offer after 1100hrs.

Our experience was perfect from start to finish. Booking the experience through Andy set the tone for the stress-free bush experience.

From the vanilla scented towels, to the delicious food, exciting game drives and phenomenal staff, our stay at Shiduli was magical from the second we arrived and lives in our hearts long after we left.

Your helpful staff greeted us as we arrived and and were with us every step of the way... literally. We were escorted to our private villa by Gary, who my children absolutely adored. Richard, in the bar was on form and Gogo Dorris had faith that we would see lions... which we did.

Thandy and Karen were friendly, professional and made us feel like old friends. We will definitely be back and will bring our friends and family so they can share in this beautiful gem.

We’ve have just come back from a 3 night stay at earth lodge. One word incredible. We got to see the big 5 and a lot more animals. The game drives were amazing. The Knowledge of the tracker (Donald) and our guide (Helen) was exceptional and they ensured we were able to see everything. We seen leopards, cheetahs and lions. You stop for a morning coffee out in the bush and sundowners in the evening, this was also excellently organised. The rooms are absolutely stunning with the biggest mini bar I’ve ever seen. The drink options are fantastic. Super comfortable rooms and luxurious. Food was superb. Each evening there was a different location for dinner excellently curated by the team at the hotel, with food prepared to a very high standard. We also used the gym facilities which were great. The service and operational standards at this hotel are exceptional. I would 100% stay at this lodge again it was such an incredible experience
